November 9, 2017 - Northwoods League (Northwoods) - Rochester Honkers
(Rochester, Minn.) - The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today that Joey Leibl (Lie-bull) has been promoted to the team's Assistant Gneral Manager focusing on Sales, Public Relations and Game Day Production.
"Having the opportunity to come on full time with the Honkers has been a dream come true," said Leibl. "Working in sports is what I've wanted to do since I was child, so for me to be able to take on this position, especially in the city of Rochester, has just been amazing."
Leibl, 24, joined the front office in 2016 as a Winter/Spring intern leading up to the 2017 season. He stayed on board full time for the 2017 season working in game operations, game production and assisted in overseeing player and team operations. He then accepted a full-time front office position on August 1, and has now earned the role of Assistant General Manager.
"Joey is a real go getter that has the passion and drive to succeed," said Honkers General Manager Dan Litzinger. "His energy and likeability is infectious. He loves to stay busy."
Leibl, a native of West Salem, Wisconsin, attended UW-La Crosse majoring in Sport Management. In his spare time, he is a referee for youth basketball and part time bartender.
"I'm excited to help bring great baseball and an even better fun-filled experience to the people of Rochester through Honkers baseball," added Leibl. "There is no such thing as a bad day when your job revolves around baseball."
The Honkers are currently interviewing for an open position for an individual to focus on Sales and Food and Beverage.
