Jets Goaltender Austin Priebe Named NAHL North Division Second Star of the Week
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced the Divisional Stars of the Week for the week ending December 23, 2012, including naming Janesville Jets goalie Austin Priebe the North Division Second Star.
Priebe (6'3", 206 lbs.), from Wausau, WI, played in both of the Janesville Jets home games versus the Springfield. Jr. Blues last weekend where the Jets picked up three out of four possible points.
In Friday's night 5 - 1 victory, Priebe stopped 25 out of 26 shots. In the exciting 2- 1 overtime loss Saturday night, Priebe stopped 35 out of 36 shots before the overtime shootout. In the shootout, which went to 15 shooters, Priebe only allowed two goals. Over the weekend he stopped a total of 60 out of 62 shots for a save percentage of 96.77%.
For the season to date, Priebe has only allowed 25 goals in 14 games played with a record of 4 wins, 3 losses and 3 overtime losses. His. 931 save percentage is the 5th best in the NAHL. Priebe also has an excellent goals against average of 2.15, which is the 7th best GAA in the league.
The Janesville Jets next play on the road versus the Port Huron Fighting Falcons on a New Year's Eve, Monday, December 31st game at 7 PM EST and then have a New Year's Day matinee game in Port Huron at 1:30 PM EST.
The Jets next play at home versus the Jamestown Ironmen on Friday, January 4th and Saturday, January 5th. Both games start at 7 PM CST with the box office and doors opening at 5:45 PM.
