JUPITER, Fla. - Tyler Jay and the Miracle bullpen combined to shutout the Palm Beach Cardinals, 3-0, as the Fort Myers Miracle completed a three-game sweep at Roger Dean Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Miracle scored the first run of the game in the top of the second. Trey Vavra led off with a double hooked into the left field corner off Palm Beach starter Jacob Evans. Alex Swim lined a first pitch deliver from Evans (2-1) into right field for a single. With runners on the corners, Evans struck out Alex Real, but Logan Wade lifted a soft fly ball into left field. Casey Turgeon made the catch in left, but Vavra tagged and scored from third, 1-0.

In the top of the sixth, the Miracle extended the lead by two runs. Lead-off man Sean Miller reached on a throwing error by Cardinals shortstop Oscar Mercado. Edgar Corcino followed with a bouncing single through the left side and Chris Paul walked to load the bases. Evans then plunked Vavra to force in a run. Swim drove in the second run of the frame with a sacrifice fly to left field. Corcino raced home to put the Miracle on top, 3-0.

Corcino finished the evening 3-for-4 and tallied seven hits in the three-game series.

Jay (2-2) turned in his best start of the season for the Miracle. Jay went 6.1 innings and struck out a season-high seven with two walks and five hits allowed. Jay exited the game in the sixth inning with two men on base in favor of reliever Brandon Peterson.

Peterson tossed 1.2 scoreless frames and then Luke Bard came on for the ninth. Bard recorded three ground outs in a perfect ninth to earn his second save of the season.

The Miracle (16-11) return to Hammond Stadium to open up a three-game set with the prospect-laden St. Lucie Mets. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. on a Thirsty Thursday and Cinco de Miracle.
