JACKSON, TN - The Diamond Jaxx (23-19) sweep a double-header from the Montgomery Biscuits (22-20) on Friday night at Pringles Park. The Jaxx took game one 5-3 and game two, 3-2. The Jaxx move to within two games of first place Tennessee in the Southern League's North Division.

Game One: Jaxx 5, Montgomery 3

In game one, Carlos Triunfel saw his 10-game hitting streak come to an end. No Jaxx players had multi-hit games.

The Biscuits scored first in the first inning of game one on a sacrifice fly from Nevin Ashley, giving the Biscuits an early 1-0 lead, but the Diamond Jaxx would answer in the bottom of the second inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, Kuo Hui Lo reached on a fielding error by Biscuit shortstop Chris De La Cruz, allowing two runs to score to give the Jaxx a 2-1.

Jaxx starter Steven Hensley got into trouble in the next half inning, having runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out, but he was able to get out of the inning giving up only one run on Biscuit catcher's, Nevin Ashley, fielder's choice RBI to tie the game at 2-2.

The Jaxx responded again, plating two more runs in the bottom of the third inning on a 2-RBI double off the bat of Jose Yepez. The double scored Alex Liddi and Johan Limonta giving the Jaxx a 4-2 advantage.

The Biscuits scored a run in the top of the fourth inning, but Kuo Hui Lo hit a solo homer in the bottom half, his fourth of the season, to make the score 5-3, which would end up being the final score.

Steven Hensley picked up the win, making him 5-1 on the season, the Jaxx' first five game winner, tying him for the league lead in wins. Anthony Varvaro picked up his fifth save of the season, pitching two scoreless innings without giving up a hit. Jake McGee picked up the loss for the Biscuits, going 4 innings and giving up 5 runs.

Game Two: Jaxx 3, Montgomery 2

Johan Limonta paced the Jaxx by going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Limonta now leads the Southern League with 14 doubles on the year. Limonta is now leading the Jaxx with a .324 batting average and 29 RBI.

In game two, West Tenn jumped on Biscuit starter Darin Downs in the bottom of the first inning, getting an early 2-0 lead. Limonta brought in Carlos Peguero with a single and Luis Oliveros scored Carlos Triunfel on a sacrifice fly.

The Jaxx had the bases loaded with nobody out in the bottom of the third inning, but were only able to score one run. Biscuits' third baseman Drew Anderson committed a fielding error allowing Dustin Ackley to get on and Alex Liddi to score. That was all the Jaxx could muster as the inning ended with two strikeouts and a groundout.

Jaxx starter Luis Munoz went five innings to get the win and gave up only one run, which was in the 4th inning after Drew Anderson hit a triple and then Matt Sweeney scored him on a groundout. Munoz surrendered just one earned run and fanned six. The Jaxx held the 3-1 lead going into the ninth, which they gave up one run on an error by Alex Liddi, but were able to hold on and defeat the Biscuits and sweep the doubleheader.

Munoz picked up his first win of the season, with Aaron Jensen getting a two inning save, his second save of the season. Darren Downs dropped his first decision of the year, and is now 4-1 on the season.
