PROMOTIONS/EVENTS Tip A 'Cane: The Hurricanes will once again take part in the annual Tip A 'Cane event that will take place Monday, January 16th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Mr. Mikes SteakhouseCasual in Lethbridge. Hurricanes players will be on hand serving dinner and all tips collected by the players will be donated to the United Way. Unsused Season Ticket Exchange: Wednesday when the Hurricanes host the Swift Current Broncos will also be the fourth Unused Season Ticket Exchange of the season. Redeem your unused season tickets at the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre for this game for a $3.00 fee. Special Group Rates: Have a group of 10 or more that wants to go to a Hurricanes game? Celebrity Dinner: The Hurricanes will hold the 11th Annual Celebrity Dinner on Friday, February 3rd at the Coast Hotel. The night will include Kelly Taylor as the Master of Ceremonies. The night will be a chance to honour the 20th Anniversary of the 1996-1997 Championship Hurricanes. Tickets are on sale NOW! THE WEEK THAT WAS Wednesday, January 11th - 7-4 Win at Edmonton Oil Kings: For the second time in less than a week, the Hurricanes earned a 7-4 victory over the Oil Kings at Rogers Place. Alec Baer scored twice while Zak Zborosky had a goal and one assist in the Hurricanes debut. Friday, January 13th - 6-5 SO Loss vs. Prince George Cougars: The Hurricanes built a 5-1 lead heading into the third period only to see the Cougars score four times in the final twenty minutes eventually winning the game 6-5 in a shootout. Saturday, January 14th - 6-5 Win vs. Edmonton Oil Kings: The Hurricanes and Oil Kings met for the third time in eight days and yet again the 'Canes got the best of Edmonton earning a 6-5 victory. Five Hurricanes had multi-point nights in the victory. Sunday, January 15th - 6-5 OT Loss at Calgary Hitmen: The Hurricanes wrapped up a three-in-three weekend with a 6-5 overtime loss on Sunday in Calgary to the Hitmen. The 'Canes trailed 5-3 in the third period before tying the game to force OT. Tyler Wong led all scorers in the game with four points including two goals and two assists.

THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE Wednesday, January 18th, 7:00pm vs. Swift Current Broncos: The Hurricanes will welcome Ryley Lindgren and the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday night at the ENMAX Centre. The Hurricanes have posted a 2-1-0-0 record against the Broncos this season, but Swift Current took the last head-to-head meeting 5-4 in early January. Saturday, January 21st, 7:00pm vs. Calgary Hitmen: The Hurricanes will host the Calgary Hitmen for the second time this season just six days after dropping a 6-5 overtime loss to them. The 'Canes are 2-0-1-0 against Calgary this season and earned a 4-0 win on October 1st in the Hitmen's only visit to Lethbridge so far this season. Alec Baer, who was acquired from the Vancouver Giants, has scored five goals while adding an assist in four games.

While Zak Zborosky has registered one goal and four assist in four games with the 'Canes.

El Capitano: Hurricanes Captain Tyler Wong, who was named the WHL's Player of the Month in December, continues to roll in the month of January. In eight games this month, Wong has racked up 15 points (8g-7a). He's currently riding a six game goal and point scoring streak. He also earned his 250th career point on Saturday against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Top 30 Players: The Hurricanes continue to unveil their Top 30 Players in franchise history. Coming in at #10 was forward Domenic Pittis. Pittis played three seasons with the Hurricanes from 1991 to 1994. He dressed in 203 regular season games accumulating 269 points (110g-159a). He sits 9th All-Time in Hurricanes scoring.
