Jamie Tardif Added to All-Star Roster

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today announced that Providence Bruins forward Jamie Tardif has been added to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2013 Dunkin' Donuts AHL All-Star Classic, to be held this Sunday and Monday, January 27 and 28, in Providence, RI. Additionally, forward Chris Bourque will miss the All-Star Classic because he is currently with the Boston Bruins of the NHL.

Tardif, a 6'0", 205-pound forward from Welland, Ontario, is in his second season with the Providence Bruins. The right wing has skated in 35 games for Providence this season, compiling 18 goals and seven assists for 25 points, along with 27 penalty minutes. Tardif currently leads all P-Bruins skaters in goals and is tied for sixth in the AHL. He is ranked first in points on the Providence roster. In 2011-12, Tardif posted 15-15=30 totals with the P-Bruins. Prior to joining Providence, the AHL veteran spent five years in the Detroit Red Wings' system from 2006-11 with the Grand Rapids Griffins. For his AHL career, Tardif has recorded 109-98=207 totals in 411 games. Drafted by Calgary in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Tardif was signed by Boston as an unrestricted free agent to a two-year contract on July 5, 2011.

The Providence Bruins, established in 1992, are the top affiliate of the 2011 Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins. The Providence Bruins have enjoyed much success over their history. The team won the American Hockey League's Calder Cup championship in 1999 and boasts 10 former players on the 2011 Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins. In addition to accomplishments on the ice, the Providence Bruins were fourth-best in attendance in the AHL in 2011-12 and are the best-attended minor-league hockey team in New England. The Providence Bruins are also the host of the 2013 Dunkin' Donuts AHL All-Star Classic, which returns to Providence for the first time since 1995.
