BAKERSFIELD, CA - Xavier Munford scored a game-high 34 points to go along with 10 assists and six rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Bakersfield Jam (9-15) fell to the Austin Spurs (15-6) 105-100 Thursday night at the Dignity Health Event Center.

Austin held a 35-29 lead after one quarter of play, thanks in part to 17 points from their bench. Munford put up 14 points (6/7 FGs) in the opening frame to go along with five assists. The Jam would outscore the Spurs 29-21 in the second period and took a 58-56 lead at halftime.

Bakersfield struggled in the third quarter, scoring just 15 points on 26.1 percent shooting from the field, and went into the final frame trailing 79-73. The fourth period saw the Jam battle back from a 10-point deficit to get within three points (103-100) with 17.6 seconds left to play. Unable to force a turnover in the final seconds, the Jam had to foul and the Spurs sealed the victory with two made free-throws.

Terrico White posted 18 points, seven rebounds and two steals, while Deonte Burton tallied 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Kyle Casey had 11 points and Derek Cooke Jr. recorded a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Spurs were led by its two Atlanta Hawks assignees: Walter Tavares (20 points, 23 rebounds, 3 blocks) and Lamar Patterson (20 points, 9 assists, 3 steals). Deshaun Thomas added 17 points.

Bakersfield is back in action tomorrow when they host the Oklahoma City Blue at 7:00 p.m. PT.
