Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Augusta, GA - The GreenJackets (14-10, 50-42) had a historic day at Lake Olmstead Stadium Sunday against the visiting Delmarva Shorebirds. (11-13, 53-40) Sunday evening.

Looking to curb a mini 4-game losing streak, the GreenJackets got their bats going early in Game 1 of the doubleheader. Grant Watson (3-5, 4.33 ERA) took the hill.

Augusta scored four runs on one hit in the first inning; their first runs in exactly a week, going back to when they shutout the Columbia Fireflies 3-0 last Sunday. Seth Harrison swung the bat well, going 3-4. Dillon Dobson had an RBI, and Skyler Ewing added two more. Grant Watson picked up the win going 5.2 innings.

In Game 2, Jake McCasland (3-4, 1.49 ERA) made the start and was on his game from the very start. The only base runner to reach came by way of an error in the 3rd inning. Otherwise, McCasland was perfect pitching his first career no-hitter, and Augusta's first since 2006 when Sergio Romo, Osiris Matos and David Quinowski beat the Rome Braves 5-0.

The GreenJackets are currently in a streak of seven consecutive games where the outcome involved a shutout.

The GreenJackets return back to action Monday evening for the end of the series and homestand. It's Feed Your Face Monday - International Night. Shrimp & Grits and Little Columbia will have samples for fans to try.

Gates open at 6:00pm and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.

Michael Connolly (6-4, 2.64 ERA) is scheduled to make the start for Augusta versus Mike Costello (1-1, 6.18 ERA).

The 28th consecutive season of professional baseball in Augusta is underway.
