Jackson Comes Back for Third Season

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Knights announced today that Rendell Jackson has been assigned to the team for the 2003 season. Jackson, a Fullback/Linebacker, will return for his third season with the Knights.

In 2001, Jackson (6-0, 238, West Georgia) played in five games for the Knights recording 20 rushes for 45 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, he recorded seven tackles, one interception and one pass breakup.

In 2002, Jackson played in each of the Macon Knights’ 18 games. On offense, he rushed 23 times for 99 yards and four touchdowns. Jackson also caught six passes for 66 yards and one touchdown. On defense, he recorded 20 tackles (five for a loss), two sacks, one interception, one pass breakup, two fumble recoveries and three blocked kicks.

In Week 6, Jackson was named arenafootball2’s Ironman of the Week after turning in a huge performance on offense and defense. Jackson rushed for one touchdown and blocked two kicks, one of which was a game-tying field goal attempt at the end of regulation securing the victory over the Jacksonville Tomcats.
