Jackals Receive Brodeur from Binghamton

November 4, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jacklas announced Thursday that goaltender Mike Brodeur has been re-assigned to the club by their NHL affiliate, the Ottawa Senators, from their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Brodeur is in his second season with the B-Sens and played in Binghamton's season-opening game on Oct. 8 but left the game due to an injury suffered late in the contest and has not played since. He made 27 saves on 28 shots in the Senators 5-1 win that night against Adirondack.

In 2009-2010, Brodeur played in 36 games with Binghamton, going 13-13-2 with an .899 save percentage, a 3.06 goals-against average, and two shutouts. The Calgary, Alberta native made his NHL debut last season, going 3-0 in three starts with Ottawa with a .966 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average and garnered a shutout in his second NHL start on Jan. 14, stopping 32 New York Rangers' shots in a 2-0 Senators victory.

Brodeur has participated in 100 career ECHL games with Augusta, Greenville, Pensacola, and Toledo, combining a 48-38-9 record with a 2.60 goals-against average.

The Jackals host the Reading Royals on Friday and Saturday night at First Arena, with both games beginning at 7:35 p.m.
