Irving Falu Sets Omaha Franchise Record with 663rd

PAPILLION - Storm Chasers infielder/outfielder Irving Falu recorded his 663rd hit of his Omaha franchise career on Friday evening against the Salt Lake Bees, passing Jed Hansen for the most of knocks accrued by a player in an Omaha uniform in the club's 47 year history.
The 33-year-old accrued the record-breaking hit with an RBI single off Salt Lake hurler Jay Guerra in the ninth inning of Friday's contest .
Falu has now accumulated a career .283 batting average (663-2345) in 608 games with Omaha, along with 321 runs, 91 doubles, 29 triples, 18 homers and 236 RBI. He is one of only three players in franchise history to play in 600 or more contests with the Omaha franchise.
This season for the Storm Chasers, Falu has compiled a .283 average (32-113) along with 12 runs, seven doubles, four homers and 23 RBI. He has recorded hits in 21 of the 29 games in which he has posted an official at bat since joining Omaha on June 5.
Hansen in 724 career games with Omaha over parts of eight seasons tallied a .265 average (662-2498) along with 387 runs, 127 doubles, 24 triples, 99 homers and 328 RBI. This 724 games played rank first in all-time franchise history.
Following Friday evening's contest, the Storm Chasers will continue their eight-game homestand and four-game series versus the Salt Lake Bees on Saturday evening. First pitch that night is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
