VERSUS HUDSON VALLEY:

The ‘Birds are 7-6 against the Renegades this season and open up the final game of the series with Hudson Valley tonight. The ‘Birds won last night 4-1. The ‘Birds are 4-3 against the Renegades at home this season.

WORTH THE WAIT:

The ‘Birds took the field last night at 9:16 after a 2:52 minute delay due the power being out after a storm. However Brian Ward got things going with a power urge via a 2-run shot to put the ‘Birds up 4-1 and coast to a victory over Hudson Valley.

CAROLUS SHOWS WHY HE'S A HIT:

Levi Carolus led the way for the ‘Birds offensively along side Brian Ward last night in their 4-1 victory over Hudson Valley. Carolus went 2-4. Carolus inscurrently hitting .325 and has resumed hitting after breaking his streak off at five games. Brian Ward went 2-4 with a homerun in last night's victory.

HITTING NUGGETS:

The ‘Birds have five players on hitting streaks. Justin Dalles leads the way with three. Trailing with two are T.J. Baxter, Arthur Bonevacia, Steve Bumbry and Levi Carolus.

ALLEN TAKES THE MOUND:

Colin Allen takes the mound tonight. Allen's last outing was July 27 at Brooklyn where he went 6.0 innings, giving up no runs but three hits along with seven strikeouts. This is Allen's third game versus Hudson Valley. Allen is 0-1 over 8.2 innings, allowing ten runs on twelve hits combined in his previous two starts.

HOME WOES:

The ‘Birds are only 9-11 at home this season. This is the fourth series the ‘Birds have hosted versus the Renegades this season. The ‘Birds look to improve on both record as they host Hudson Valley tonight. The ‘Birds improved on their record winning last night 4-1.

CAROLUS LEADING THE WAY:

Levi Carolus is currently leading the team in six offensive categories: average, hits, RBI, doubles, stolen bases and slugging percentage. Carolus is also on a two game hitting streak and shows no signs of slowing.
