Iowa Barnstormers Host Blackout Game

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Barnstormers (13-2) are in a must win battle for the playoffs as they face the Sioux Falls Storm (13-2) this Saturday, June 17. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. CDT at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Iowa Barnstormers are currently tied in first place of the United Conference with Sioux Falls Storm, both with records of 13-2. With tie breakers in place, a spot in the playoffs comes down to this Saturday where both teams will battle it out in a must win game at Wells Fargo Arena. The Barnstormers will be hosting a "Blackout Night" inviting fans to wear black in support of the team. The first 1,000 fans at the game will receive a free black t-shirt courtesy of Scrap Processors, Inc.

The Barnstormers have faced a tough season and come out on top, breaking several franchise records including the longest winning streak and the most games won in a season. Prior to this season, the 1996 Barnstormers held the record for consecutive wins with eight while the 2009 Barnstormers held the best record with 12-4. The team currently holds an 11 game winning streak with a record of 13-2 and one game left to play.

Individual players have put in work this season proving they are here to win. The Iowa Barnstormers have earned IFL Player of the Week honors a total of 7 times to date this season with DaeJohn Love (Week 9), Jamie Bender (Week 16), and Javicz Jones (Week 4, Week 8) earning Defensive Player of the Week and Brady Roland (Week 15) and Travis Partridge (Week 12, Week 14) earning Offensive Player of the Week. Individual franchise records have also been broken, with defensive back Jamie Bender snagging four interceptions in a single game.

Along with "Blackout Night," the Barnstormers will also be hosting their Annual Alumni Night. Former Barnstormers players will be at the game to cheer on the 2017 roster as they make a final run for playoffs. Alumni will also be recognized on the field at halftime.
