Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will once again light up Investors Group Field in purple, the colour of mental health awareness, tonight for World Mental Health Day. The home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will join the list of international landmarks that support World Mental Health Day (#WMHD) and the Amanda Todd Legacy Project by "Lighting Up Purple." "We hope that this small act helps to continue a growing conversation about mental health in our community," said Wade Miller, President & CEO of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This is the third year the Bombers have participated in the project, and the fifth year of the Amanda Todd Legacy project. Light Up Purple builds on the theme of inclusivity and respectful relationships that the Bombers support through their Bombers Tackle Bullying program, presented by DMS Industrial Constructors Inc., and the Samantha Mason Foundation, which reached more than 1,300 youth in Winnipeg, Thompson, and Wabowden during the 2016-17 off-season. Photo/Video opportunity: October 10, 2017 from 9:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Videoboards and ribbon boards will be lit purple. Photo opportunity of interior available by appointment only. Media wishing to receive photographs can request them by contacting Kristin Cuma, Community Relations Coordinator, at kcuma@bluebombers.com or 204-784-7298.
