Invasion Hire La Rocca as New Head Coach
December 16, 2012 - Cary, NC: Team officials have announced that the Cary Invasion have hired Christopher La Rocca as the team's new Head Coach. The 41-year-old La Rocca has basketball experience that includes more than a decade of working in Duke University basketball camps, as well as coaching experience at Jim Boeheim's Syracuse Basketball Camp. Most recently, he has served as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Wake Tech Community College. La Rocca also brings a network of international player contacts and a diverse background of prior sports management experience, including previous assignments with the U.S. National Soccer Team and FIFA Women's World Cup.
"I am extremely proud to accept the position of Head Coach with the Cary Invasion. This team will represent Cary and the Triangle area in a way Invasion fans will be proud of," states La Rocca.
"Chris and I have spent a lot of time discussing the future of the Invasion organization, how we can continue to win games, and how we can go to the next level. He is a good fit for us, and I look forward to continuing success on the court," says Cary Invasion owner, Mark Janas.
The Invasion will start its third season in April 2013 playing its games at the Herb Young Center in downtown Cary. Home dates for the 2013 season are: 4/7, 4/14, 4/27, 5/11, 5/12, 5/19, and 6/9. All games will tip off at 5:00 pm, and kid's mini skills camps taught by Invasion players and staff will start at 3:30 pm on home game days.
