Intimidators announce 2014 schedule

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 19, 2013) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, and the South Atlantic League have announced the schedule for the 2014 regular season, which the Intimidators will open at home on Thursday, April 3, 2014. The 2014 season will mark the 20th year of professional baseball in the City of Kannapolis and the 14th as a White Sox affiliate. Kannapolis will play a 140-game schedule with 70 home and 70 road games evenly split between two halves.
On opening night, the Intimidators hosts the Greenville Drive (Red Sox) in their only trip to CMC-NorthEast Stadium, followed by a series against the Hickory Crawdads (Rangers). Kannapolis faces Hickory 23 times in 2014, including 16 games between the instate rivals in the First Half. The SAL All-Star Break is June 16-18. Kannapolis opens the Second Half on the road before returning to CMC-NorthEast Stadium on July 27 to host the Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees) for the first time in two seasons. The Intimidators also host the Asheville Tourists (Rockies) for the first time since 2011 in a four-game series July 10-13 and a three-game set Aug. 19-21.
In addition to 22 Friday and Saturday night games, the 2014 season will feature dozens of exciting promotions, including the Intimidators annual Independence Holiday Fireworks Extravaganza on Thursday, July 3, against the Delmarva Shorebirds (Orioles). The team closes the season at home against the Greensboro Grasshoppers (Marlins) on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1.
In total, the Intimidators will host all 13 other teams in the SAL at least once in 2014 and will make road trips to 11 different opponents, with Lexington and Savannah being the two markets the Intimidators won't visit.
Season tickets for the 2014 campaign are now on sale and can currently be purchased for the 2013 price of only $320 per reserved-seat ticket. Season tickets in the V.I.P. section, featuring in-seat service, are only $500. Fans can purchase season tickets by calling (704) 932-3267. Any fans that purchases season tickets for the 2014 season by December will receive a free parking pass for the 2014 season.
