Indy Adds Two More out of College Ranks

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced Friday that they have signed forward Woody Hudson to a standard players contract, while adding defenseman Jack Burton on an amateur tryout. Both players will be available Saturday night as Indy hosts the Kalamazoo Wings at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
Hudson, 24, marked two goals and three assists in 33 games this season as a senior at St. Lawrence University. Over four seasons with the Saints, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound winger accumulated 16 goals and 19 assists. A native of Greece, N.Y., Hudson spent parts of two seasons from 2011-13 with the USHL's Indiana Ice.
Burton, 24, comes to Indy from Colby College (Maine, D-III), where he tallied 52 points (18g, 34a) in 85 career games for the Mules. In 2016-17, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound blueliner led the entire NESCAC in defenseman scoring with 6 goals and 16 assists. Hailing from Baltimore, Md., Burton spent two seasons with the Boston Jr. Bandits in the EJHL prior to his college career.
Next Home Game: Saturday, March 18 vs. Kalamazoo - 7:35 p.m. (Pink in the Rink): The Fuel swap out their red and black for pink during their third-annual breast cancer awareness game, benefitting the Pink Ribbon Connection, Susan G.
