Series Streak- Kinston won Sunday's series rubber game at Frederick 2-1 in 12 innings. In the top of the12th with runners on the corners and two out, Kyle Bellows hit a grounder to the mound. Keys' pitcher Sean Gleasonmishandled it, allowing Jason Kipnis to score the go-ahead run. The victory gave the K-Tribe their fifth consecutive series win, and they have won 9 of their last 11 games.The game matched the most innings this season for Kinston and the time of game of 3:38 was their longest this season.
Laying Low- Kinston's pitching staff continues to lead the Carolina League with a 2.64 ERA. That ranks second in all of baseball behind Class A Savannah. K-Tribe pitching leads all of baseball with a staggering .213 opponent batting average.
