SAINT JOHN - Bokondji Imama scored four goals and Mathieu Joseph added a hat trick as the Saint John Sea Dogs defeated the Sherbrooke Phoenix 7-2 Saturday at Harbour Station.

Imama is the fourth player in Sea Dogs history to record a four-goal game. He has a five-game goal-scoring streak and ten goals in his last eight games. Joseph also has goals in five straight.

Nathan Noel and Chase Stewart each had two assists for Saint John (13-6-2-0), which won its second straight game in front of the largest home crowd of the season of 5,157.

Quispamsis-native Anderson MacDonald had a goal for Sherbrooke (8-9-1-2). Yaroslav Alexeyev also found the net.

A scoring summary is available HERE [http://theqmjhl.ca/gamecentre/25320/boxscore].

The Sea Dogs opened the scoring nearly nine minutes into the game.

On the power play, defenceman Chase Stewart fired a shot from the middle of the point that was redirected by Imama past the right skate of goalie Justin Blanchette.

The Phoenix countered with their own power play marker late in the period when a shot from the middle of the blueline deflected to Alexeyev in the right circle. The Russian winger banked the puck off of goalie Alex D'Orio and into the net.

Joseph gave Saint John the lead again three minutes into the second period, tipping home a point shot by Bailey Webster.

MacDonald responded about ninety seconds later.

Forward Jack Kilgour broke in alone on the left wing side, cut to the net and chipped a shot on goal that the Sherbrooke-native D'Orio denied. MacDonald, last year's leading scorer for the Saint John Vito's midget team, won a race to the rebound and put it into an empty net.

Imama's second goal of the game gave Saint John the lead again with five minutes left in the second period.

The Sea Dogs cycled the puck behind the Sherbrooke goal to Reginato, who threw a short pass to Imama on the left wing side of the net. The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect whipped a quick wrist shot past Blanchette's glove.

Joseph created a two-goal lead with a shorthanded buzzer-beater.

He stole the puck at the Saint John blueline, broke in alone and beat Blanchette with a shot under his blocker.

Imama completed his hat trick three minutes into the third.

A shot from the right point did not make it to the net. Noel fed the puck to Imama in the right circle for a one-timed snapshot that beat an outstretched Blanchette on his glove side. It was the Montreal-native's first career hat trick.

The 19-year-old Joseph made it a 6-2 game with his second shorthanded marker of the night.

Saint John won a faceoff in their zone and Thomas Chabot flipped the puck high in the air to neutral zone. It bounced down at the feet of a streaking Joseph, who broke in alone and ripped a low shot past Blanchette.

Imama wrapped up the scoring in the final minute, racing down the left wing and cutting to the net before tucking a backhand shot between Blanchette's legs. He joins Zack Phillips, Jonathan Huberdeau and Nathan Noel as the only Sea Dogs to score four times in one regular season or playoff game.

D'Orio remains undefeated thanks to a 24-save performance. Blanchette, his former midget teammate, took the loss with 33 stops.

Imama and Joseph were named first and second star, respectively, while MacDonald snared third star.
