IL All-Star Roster Adds Chiefs' Rivero

The International League today announced that Syracuse Chiefs' INF CARLOS RIVERO has been added to the IL's roster for the 25th Annual Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 7 at Coca-Cola Field, presented by the New Era Cap Company and The Buffalo News.

Rivero, 24, has hit .289 (80-277) in 77 games with the Chiefs. The infielder has 15 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 34RBI and 30 runs scored for Syracuse. This is Rivero's first Triple-A All-Star selection.

With the addition of Rivero, the International League All-Star Squad now stands at 26 players. Not able to attend the All-Star festivities in Buffalo next week are Gwinnett's RHP Cory Gearrin, Louisville's C Dioner Navarro, Norfolk's, RHP Jason Berken, Pawtucket's RHP Justin Germano and INF Pedro Ciriaco.

Last week, Durham's OF Leslie Anderson filled the roster spot of Charlotte's OF Greg Golson.

The Pacific Coast League's All-Star roster is at 28 players. Most recently, Fresno's RHP Heath Hembree was scratched from the PCL squad.
