Indiana Ice News Release
INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice announced today that defenseman Peter Hand has been named the USHL's Defenseman of the Week following a five-point performance in back-to-back contests against the Green Bay Gamblers.
The veteran blueliner exploded for five points (G, 4A) and a +5 plus-minus rating in two road contests last weekend with Green Bay. He started the weekend by dishing out three assists and tallying a +4 plus-minus rating in Friday's 7-4 loss to the defending Clark Cup Champions and finished the weekend with a goal, assist and a +1 rating in Saturday's 6-3 defeat.
The native of Schnectady, NY just returned from injured reserve and has seven points (G, 6A) and 30 penalty minutes in 12 games.
Hand and his Ice teammates will be on the road this weekend for a pair of contests against the Western Conference-leading Waterloo Black Hawks. The team returns to Indianapolis next Thursday and Friday for a doubleheader with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Thursday's match will be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse while Friday's game will be at Pan Am Plaza. The puck is set to drop for both games at 7:05 pm.
