IceHogs Trim Training Camp Roster to 24

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Tuesday that the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs have trimmed their training camp roster by five players.

Defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin and forward David Gilbert have been reassigned by the Chicago Blackhawks to the Toledo Walleye (ECHL). Forward Paul Zanette and goaltender Carter Hutton have been assigned from Rockford to Toledo. Forward Brandon Svendsen has been released from his try-out and will report to training camp with the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL). In addition, forward Jeremy Morin has been assigned by Chicago to Rockford.

Morin, 20, is entering his second season with the IceHogs. Last season, Morin made his professional debut in Rockford on Oct. 9 against the Manitoba Moose. He notched 12 points (8g, 4a) in 22 games for the IceHogs. Morin made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks on Nov. 6 against the Atlanta Thrashers, totaling three points (2g, 1a) in nine games.

Rockford's training camp roster now features 24 players, including 15 forwards, seven defensemen and two goalies.
