IceHogs Sign Gleason and Shea to AHL Contracts

Rockford, Ill- The Rockford IceHogs announced that they have signed defensemen Joe Gleason and Bobby Shea to American Hockey League contracts for the 2013-2014 season. Gleason was a Blackhawks draft pick selected in the 7th round (#192 overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He skated for the University of North Dakota where he played in 143 games, putting up 46 points (6g-40a).

Shea was a member of the 2012-13 Kelly Cup Championship team with the Reading Royals (ECHL) where he played in 15 postseason games, achieving three points (2g-1a). He spent four years at Bowling Green State University playing in 139 games and collecting 36 points (9g-27a).

The IceHogs roster now sits at 26 including 15 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders. The IceHogs open the 2013-2014 American Hockey League regular season on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the San Antonio Rampage at 7 pm.
