IceDogs Fall to Petes to Close out 2016-2017 Season

The IceDogs entered tonights game with no intentions it being their final game of the season. Going into a must win game, the 'Dogs were relaxed knowing there was no pressure on them, and relying on their game plan.
Both teams came flying out the gate to start the period, but it was the IceDogs who drew first blood. After a series of penalties and scoring chances that got the crowd pumping, Kirill the Thrill Maksimov redirected a Johnny Corneil pass to score his team leading 4th goal of the post season into a rare open net. Ben Jones picked up the secondary assist. Peterborough capitalized twice to carry a 2-1 score into the first intermission.
The second period started with a huge welcome from the fans. Peterborough extended their lead to two but with 10 to go in the period, St Catharines native, Danial Singer cut their down to one with a blast on the powerplay! Oliver Castleman and Jonathan Schaefer picked up the assists Singer's 2nd of the playoffs. The crowd was so loud following Singer's goal that the goal song couldn't be heard. Peterborough restored their 2 goal lead before the end of the 2nd period. The Petes extended their lead to 4 in the third period, to close out the series by a score of 6-2.
