IceDogs Fall to Oshawa 4-1 in Game Four

March 28, 2013 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs fell to the opposing Oshawa Generals by a score of 4-1 in game four of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal in front of a sellout crowd of 3,145 at the Gatorade Garden City Complex.

The first period of the game would see both the IceDogs and the Generals come out fighting but Christopher Festarini and Daniel Altshuller would be on their game, keeping the game scoreless after 20 minutes. Shots after one were 9-8 for Niagara.

The game would not remain scoreless much longer however, as only 1:26 into the second period Anthony DiFruscia would strike for the IceDogs to take the lead at 1-0. The score would not remain that way for long as Oshawa would knot things up 1-1 just two minutes later. Unfazed, the IceDogs would continue to battle but unfortunately Oshawa would net two more goals late in the period to extend their lead 3-1 heading into the intermission. Shots after two were 23-17 IceDogs.

The third period would see the IceDogs continuing to push hard and create some great scoring chances. Unfortunately they would be unable to find the back of the net and Oshawa would add an empty net goal to make it a 4-1 final. Final shots were 29-27 IceDogs.

The IceDogs will now head to Oshawa tomorrow night where they will look to extend the series with a win and send the series back to St. Catharines for game six on Monday. If game six is necessary, tickets will go on sale Saturday morning at 10am at all IceDogs ticketing locations. In the meantime be sure to catch all the action tomorrow night in Oshawa, either in person, or live on TVCogeco or 610 CKTB!
