IceDogs Fall to Battalion to Start Northern Roadtrip

The IceDogs were looking to continue their hot hand tonight as they kicked off their 5-game roadtrip in North Bay. After facing the Battalion last Saturday, and winning 4-0, the IceDogs wanted continue their push to the playoffs on a high note.

The first period got off to a solid start for the 'Dogs, pushing the pace in the offensive zone and forcing former IceDog, Moran, to make timely saves. With four minutes left in the first, Oliver Castleman's backhanded shot beat Moran to score his 15th goal of the season, taking the 1-0 lead! Justin Brack picked up the assist on Castleman's goal to carry the lead into the 2nd period.

In the second period, the Battalion scored to take the 2-1.

Just past the halfway point of the third period, the Battalion scored to extend their lead to 3-1, despite the strong efforts of the IceDogs. The IceDogs fought, but weren't rewarded on the scoreboard. The Battalion took this one 4-1.

The IceDogs continue their five game road trip Saturday night as they head to Sault Ste Marie to take on the Greyhounds. Returning home on March 2nd, the IceDogs will play host to the Kitchener Rangers.
