May 11, 2016 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs lost game four of the OHL finals by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday night, while the London Knights would take home the title of OHL champions.

The first period saw some highly physical play as the Dogs came out with tons of momentum from the crowd. The Dogs would kill off a few early power plays, with Alex Nedeljkovic making some great key saves, but London was the only team able to find the scoreboard in the period, and took a 1-0 lead into the intermission. Shots on goal were 11-7 for the Knights in the frame.

The second period was a bit quieter on the action side, while both teams maintained the fast paced play, they were both strong defensively. Alex Nedeljkovic stole the show in the frame making numerous highlight reel saves, including two flashy glove snags and a beautiful breakaway save. The shots in the period favoured the Knights, 11-5.

The Dogs would play their hearts out in the third period, pushing hard for the tying goal with everything they had, but it wasn't meant to be as they fell just inches short of a goal. The Dogs will finish their incredible season as the Eastern Conference and Bobby Orr Trophy Champions. The IceDogs would like to thank all of their amazing fans for their continuous support all season as we couldn't have done it without you. The Dogs will be back!
