PENSACOLA, FL - The Ice Pilots continue their five game road trip as they head south to battle the in-state rival Florida Everblades for the first time this season. The Ice Pilots finished last week with a record of 1-1-0 against the Mississippi Sea Wolves. Pensacola split the two games and is coming off a 4-3 win on Saturday night in Biloxi. Five rookies are atop the scoring leaders for the Ice Pilots as forward Mathieu Roy continues to lead the team with 9 points (5G-4A). John Daigneau backstopped the Pilots to the win on Saturday night and has started all three games for Pensacola since being acquired in a trade with Idaho.

Wednesday, Nov. 21, Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24 at Florida (Games at 6:30 p.m. CT)

The Ice Pilots face-off against the Florida Everblades for three games over Thanksgiving weekend at Germain Arena. There will be 11 meetings in all between the two clubs this season with six of those coming in Pensacola. The Everblades are sitting in third place in the South Division with a record of 8-5-0. Florida has won its last two games, both road victories. Derek Damon is tied for the league lead in scoring with 20 points (9G-11A). Goaltender Justin Peters has a 2.20 GAA and a 0.925 save percentage.

Last week's Games

Friday at Mississippi (8-2 Loss)

Jason Tejchma and Torry Gajda each scored two goals as the Mississippi Sea Wolves defeated the Ice Pilots 8-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The Sea Wolves tallied two goals in the first as Lance Monych and Tejchma scored to put Mississippi up 2-0 after the first period. The second period saw the Sea Wolves add three goals, one from Hurtubise and two from Gajda to up the lead to 5-0. The Ice Pilots got on the board as Luke Erickson netted his second goal of the season. Tejchma scored his second to make it 6-1. Brian McGregor made it a 6-2 game with his third of the season two minutes into the third period. Gio Flamminio and Radek Smolenak added third period goals and the Sea Wolves defeated Pensacola. Mike Sgroi and Bill Kinkel dropped the gloves in the first period.

Saturday at Mississippi (4-3 WIN)

On the strength of three power play goals, the Ice Pilots earned their first road victory of the season, defeating the Sea Wolves 4-3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Mississippi took the early lead 1:59 into the game as Travis Lisabeth netted his third of the season to put the Sea Wolves up 1-0. Pensacola returned the favor just a minute after as Mike Sgroi netted his second goal of the season, on the power play to tie the game at one. Sgroi has now scored a point in all three of the games he has played for the Ice Pilots. The Sea Wolves retook the lead with a goal from Lance Monych on the power play. The Ice Pilots finished the first period strong as Mike Tuomi and Mathieu Roy scored three minutes apart to give the Ice Pilots their first lead of the night at 3-2. The Sea Wolves tied the game in the second on a goal from Torry Gajda. However, the Pilots retook the lead on a power play goal from Mike Ullrich. It was his first professional goal. John Daigneau made 27 saves for his first win as an Ice Pilot. For the first time this season the Ice Pilots out shot an opponent as Pensacola registered 38 shots with Mississippi finishing the game with 30 shots. The Ice Pilots finished the game 3 for 11 on the power play while the Sea Wolves went 1 for 4.
