Ice Defenseman Kuqali Commits to RIT

INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice announced today that defenseman Alexander Kuqali (KOO-call-ee) has committed to play college hockey at Rochester Institute of Technology next fall. RIT is a member of the Division 1 Atlantic Hockey Conference (AH).

The veteran blueliner is skating in his third year with the Ice and was chosen in the preseason as one of the team's two assistant captains.

In 12 games this year, he has produced five points (G, 4A) and a (+5) plus/minus and has appeared in 95 games during his Ice career, where he has collected 23 points (2G, 21A) and a (+12) plus/minus.

Kuqali will join current teammate Woody Hudson at RIT which was also the past home of Ice goaltending coach Jamie Morris, who starred at the school in the late '90's.

Kuqali and his Ice teammates begin a three-game road stretch Friday against Cedar Rapids, before returning home to the Pepsi Coliseum next Friday (11/25) and Saturday (11/26) against the Sioux City Musketeers and Fargo Force.
