Ice Bears Re-Sign Flegel

Knoxville, TN - The Knoxville Ice Bears Head Coach Mike Craigen announced today defenseman Jake Flegel has signed a contract to return to the Ice Bears organization for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.

The Ajax, Ontario, native appeared in 42 games with the Ice Bears during the 2015-2016 season, registering 14 points. In his rookie season, At 6'4" - 215lbs, Flegel quickly established himself as a key component to the Ice Bears backend. The 24-year-old secured top minutes early on in the Ice Bears season with his heavy, shutdown style defense.

"I am very happy to have the opportunity to be a part of the Knoxville Ice Bears organization for the upcoming season. I look forward to seeing all of the dedicated fans and people of Knoxville as we strive to bring a championship back home once again." Flegel said in a statement Monday.

Ice Bears Head Coach Mike Craigen had this to say about the re-signing of Jake Flegel, "Jake is really a perfect fit for our building with his disruptive and energetic style. His size and physical play make him a presence on the ice and his teammates and our staff love what he brings to the rink every day."
