Ice Bears Power Play Explodes for Three in Victory

Knoxville, TN - Knoxville scored three times on the power play as the Ice Bears beat the Huntsville Havoc 4-2 on Saturday night. Corey Hale, Josh Cousineau, and Ben Power scored for Knoxville with the man advantage. Doug Reid added an even strength goal late in the third for the Ice Bears.
Knoxville ended a four-game losing skid at home and has won two of its last four after dropping seven straight. Huntsville had its three-game winning streak snapped.
Hale scored first for Knoxville on a 5-on-3 with a slap shot from the right point at 13:28 of the first period. Cousineau tallied a one-timer in the slot from a saucer pass by Zack LaRue five minutes later. Power scored off a wrist shot from the left circle 37 seconds into the third. Bryan Hince made 23 saves for Knoxville.
John McGinnis and Stuart Stefan scored for the Havoc, who lost to the Ice Bears for the first time this season in four meetings. Jordan Ruby had 21 saves for Huntsville. The Havoc will host Columbus Thursday night before Knoxville returns to Alabama the following night.
