Southhaven, MS - Knoxville Ice Bears defeated the Mississippi RiverKings 5-4 in front of a crowd of 1,220.
Knoxville free agent camp participant Jake Rivera registered 2 assists in this afternoon's contest and accumulated 4 points for the weekend. Rivera contributed with 1 shot, +3 rating and 5 minutes in penalties for fighting.
Ice Bears forward Danny Cesarz scored two goals in his first exhibition of the season. Doug Reid, Andrew Bonazza and Corey Hale each scored in the Ice Bears' victory.
Knoxville will trim the roster down to 22 players by tonight at midnight.
Knoxville Ice Bears' inaugural 'Skate of the Union' Media Day will be hosted at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum on Wednesday, October 19th from 4 - 6 pm. Members of the media can set up interviews with players, coaches and staff by calling the Knoxville Ice Bears office.
The Knoxville Ice Bears kick off their home schedule as they host the expansion Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs on Saturday, October 22nd at 7:30 pm.
