Kootenay Ice News Release

Cranbrook, BC --Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club today announced the Club has acquired 18-year-old Forward Jake Elmer from the Regina Pats in exchange for a ninth round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

"With our current roster situation, it was important that we add more depth to our lineup. Jake Elmer adds WHL experience and potential to our Club and will get an opportunity to continue his development within our group," added Chynoweth.

Jake Elmer was selected in the sixth round, 116th overall by the Regina Pats in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. Elmer has spent the 2016-17 season with the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, where he recorded 12 points (9-3-12) and 21 penalty minutes in 20 games played.

The ICE are now carrying 23 players (two Goaltenders, seven Defensemen and 14 Forwards).
