Hurricanes Recall Woods from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Brendan Woods from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Woods, 23, has played in four games on the NHL level for the Hurricanes this season. The Humboldt, Sask., native has scored nine goals and earned 11 assists (20 points) in 58 games this season with the Checkers. Since turning professional, Woods (6'4", 210 lbs.) has scored 27 goals and earned 31 assists (58 points) in 170 career AHL games, and has skated in six career games with the Hurricanes. Carolina drafted Woods in the fifth round, 129th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft.
