Huntsville Flight to Bring NBA Preseason Game to the Von Braun Center

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., May 21, 2002 ? The Huntsville Flight, a member of the National Basketball Development League, will host a NBA preseason game between the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers on October 19, 2002 at the Von Braun Center.

All full, partial and mini-season ticket packages purchased for the Flight's 2002-03 NBDL season will include an opportunity to buy the best seats to this NBA preseason matchup before tickets go on sale to the general public. The Hawks' are led by Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Jason Terry while the Pacers' feature four-time NBA All-Star Reggie Miller, the NBA's Most Improved Player Jermaine O'Neal and rookie standout Jamaal Tinsley. "Our game in Huntsville will give fans an early opportunity to view our much-improved team. The return of Theo Ratliff will make a dramatic difference on the court next season when he's teamed up with Shareef (Abdur-Rahim) and Jason (Terry). We always view preseason as an exciting time for us, because the process gives us the opportunity to fully evaluate our team, and given the level of interest we've gotten in the past from fans in Huntsville, we think they will be excited as well."

Tickets for the Hawks-Pacers contest at the Von Braun Center go on sale at 10:00 a.m. CT on Friday, June 7 at the Von Braun Center box office, by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX, or online at Ticketmaster.com (credit card only). Tickets are available in the following price ranges: $15, $20, $25, $35, and $40. A limited number of courtside seats are also available.

The NBDL, the NBA's minor league includes the Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), North Charleston Lowgators (S.C.), Huntsville Flight (Ala.), Mobile Revelers (Ala.), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.), Greenville Groove (S.C.), and Asheville Altitude (N.C.). The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Eight NBDL players were called up to the NBA during the NBDL's inaugural season. Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the NBDL serves a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 29 teams and as a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions in each NBDL city.
