St. John's IceCaps News Release

ST. JOHN'S, NL - Charles Hudon lit the lamp in overtime as the St. John's IceCaps notched a 4-3 win over the Syracuse Crunch Wednesday night at Mile One Centre to complete the two-game series sweep.

Hudon stole the puck at his team's blueline and raced in all alone before beating Kristers Gudlevskis on the blocker side to give the home team the two points.

Zach Fucale once again saw an abundance of rubber, stopping 34-of-37 shots for his second straight win. Mark MacMillan, Nikita Scherbak and Victor Bartley - his first as an IceCap - scored in regulation. Scherbak has now scored in back-to-back contests. Ryan Johnston picked up a pair of helpers.

The IceCaps were up 2-0 early but the Crunch battled back to take the lead late in the second. Scherbak's power play goal five minutes into the third evened the score, leading to Hudon's eventual game-winner.

St. John's scored three times on the power play and finished the series 5-for-8 with the man advantage.

This weekend the rival Toronto Marlies come to town as the IceCaps wrap up their February home stand. Tickets are available at the Mile One Centre box office and online at www.mileonecentre.com.
