Houston Dynamo Defender Corey Ashe Forced to Withdraw from U.S. Men's National Team Training Camp
HOUSTON (Monday, May 27, 2013) - Houston Dynamo defender Corey Ashe was forced to withdraw from the U.S. men's national team training camp roster after suffering a groin strain in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Sporting Kansas City.
Ashe was set to join the national team camp today in Cleveland, Ohio ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Belgium, but was forced to exit Sunday's game at halftime after sustaining the injury. He has started all 13 games this season and played full time in every game before Sunday. The 27-year-old started 30 games in each of the last two seasons.
The national team has a pair of friendlies against Belgium and Germany before continuing FIFA World Cup Qualifying against Jamaica, Panama and Honduras in June.
