Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
RADCLIFF, Ky. (June 7, 2011) The Bowling Green Hot Rods and the KY-based national nonprofit USA Cares, will partner to raise funds and awareness to benefit Kentucky's military families who are facing critical financial issues like foreclosure and the hardships caused by long-term unemployment.
The Hot Rods are holding "USA Cares Night," on June 14 starting at 7:05 p.m. The game pits the Hot Rods against the West Michigan Whitecaps. For every $10 game seat sold, $3 will be donated to USA Cares. The address is 300 8th Ave., Bowling Green, Ky.
USA Cares assist post-9/11 military and their families. "Kentucky's military is one of our top four states in regards to financial needs," said Jennifer Robinson, USA Cares vice president of assistance.
"Any funds generated from this effort with the Hot Rods will support Kentucky military families who need everything from a tank of gas to get to a job interview to keeping their family home."
USA Cares is supported 100 percent by public and corporate donations. It estimates that roughly 84 cents of every dollar donated goes to assisting the military.
"The military community doesn't like to ask for help. But multiple deployments have ruined the finances of thousands of our nation's military families. Supporting the Hot Rod's effort on their behalf and buying a $10 game seat will l go a long way in helping them get their lives back to normal," said Robinson.
Advanced game tickets can be ordered on-line at BGHotRods.com. U se the special code, "USACARES." Or phone 270-901-2121 ext. 212.
Supporters will also be able to bid on special USA Cares-themed jerseys worn by the teams. All proceeds go to USA Cares.
