Hogs Host Admirals on Military Appreciation Night
November 25, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs (7-9-1-0) host Military Appreciation Night, presented by the Air Force, as they take on the Milwaukee Admirals (11-2-1-1) for the third meeting of the season between the two teams.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. The IceHogs will don special Military Jerseys for the contest and a select number of jerseys will be available via blind-silent auction and raffle, with proceeds benefitting the Veterans Drop-in Center. In addition, the Hogs will also be collecting donations for the Rockford Veterans Drop-In Center throughout the game. Suggested donations include paper products or microwavable food items, but gently-used clothing and non-perishable food items will also be accepted. All fans who donate will receive a free ticket voucher for the next IceHogs home game on Wednesday, Nov. 30 against the Manitoba Moose.
Tickets can be purchased at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster location, by phone (815) 968-5222 or online at www.icehogs.com and www.ticketmaster.com.
Fans unable to make the game can tune in to all the action on The Justice Network 23.3, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 6:30 p.m. Listen to the game online at WXRX.com and sportsfanradio1330.com, and watch at AHL Live.
Rockford has won three of its last five games and look to improve its success at home when they host Milwaukee this evening. The IceHogs boast a 5-3-0-0 record on their home ice this year, and have points in seven of their last nine home games against the Admirals, dating to last season.
Despite dropping the most recent meeting between the two clubs, Rockford was able to withstand a late comeback in the series opener to extend the game into overtime and notch its eventual 3-2 shootout victory on Oct. 23. The tightly-contested affair extended a recent trend between the two division rivals, as six of the last 13 meetings have gone into overtime.
Next Home Game: Wednesday, Nov. 30 vs. Manitoba Moose at 7 p.m. Face-off is set for 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Moose for the first of eight meetings between the two teams of the 2016-17 season. Wednesday is also the second of 10 Winning Weekday games, presented by Fas Fuel, where after every IceHogs weekday home win, all fans in attendance can redeem their game ticket for a FREE ticket of equal or lesser value to the next weekday game. In addition, one lucky fan in attendance will WIN a $50 gas card courtesy of Fas Fuel. It is also WXRX Dollar Days where fans can take advantage of $2 beers, soft drinks, hot dogs and companion tickets.
