March 25, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- With 70 games down and just 10 to go for the Rockford IceHogs, the playoff picture is still far from settled. Tonight the IceHogs wrap up a three-game homestand against the Iowa Chops at 7:05 p.m. at the Rockford MetroCentre.

Entering play tonight, Rockford occupies the fourth playoff spot in the AHL's West Division after winning the last two on home ice. Iowa is four points behind the IceHogs and sit in sixth place. Only seven points separate the Chops and the second place Houston Aeros which the IceHogs trail by three points.

Tonight's game is the tenth and final in the season series between the division rivals. The home team has had the upper hand in the first nine tilts, winning seven of them. Rockford is 4-5-0-0 against the Chops including 3-1-0-0 at the MetroCentre.

Winger Pete MacArthur has had the hot hand for Rockford as of late. The rookie winger has four goals over the past five games including two game-winning tallies. MacArthur marked the game winner in Monday's 2-1 win over the first place Milwaukee Admirals.

One lucky college student will drive away with a car tonight! The IceHogs along with Speedway Auto Mall will give the car away with an on-ice promotion during an intermission to a college student who is 18-or-older and has a valid driver's license. All high school and college students can also get into tonight's game for $10 with WXRX's Student Rush and get the best available seat by presenting their student ID at the MetroCentre Box Office after 6 p.m.

The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive a Fire and Ice Girls Poster courtesy of Speedway Auto Mall, AMP Energy Drink, High Maintenance, Tanhiti and Peak Fitness. For tickets to the game call (815) 968-5222, on the Web at www.metrocentre.com or at the MetroCentre Box Office.
