Calgary, AB - Connor Hobbs tallied a team-leading three points with a goal and two assists to lead the Regina Pats to a 5-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Thursday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The victory propels the Pats into Round 2 of the Western Hockey League Playoffs as they eliminate Calgary to win the best-of-seven series 4-0.
Austin Wagner netted a pair of goals for Regina with Dawson Davidson and Jeff de Wit adding singles. The Canadian Hockey League's top-ranked Pats have now won 12 games in a row dating back to the regular season.
Tristen Nielsen, with his first career WHL playoff goal, scored for the Hitmen.
Regina outshot Calgary 39-21 and went 4-6 on the power play. The Hitmen were 1-3 with the man advantage.
