THE HILLCATS: Lynchburg smashed Frederick 11-4 in the deciding game of their three-game series at Harry Grove Stadium on Sunday night...The Hillcats improved to 5-4 in rubber matches this season and are now 2-0 against the Keys in deciding games...

VS. WILMINGTON: The Hillcats are 5-8 against the Blue Rocks this season and are 2-5 at Frawley Stadium...Wilmington is the only team in the Carolina League with a winning record versus the Hillcats this season...Last season the Rocks topped the Cats in the season series 11-9 and were 6-4 at home...Wilmington has the all-time advantage over Lynchburg 170-121 and they are 89-58 in their home confines...

I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN: Slowly but surly the Hillcats have been finding more success of late...Their series victory over Frederick was just their second series win of the second half and they had dropped three straight heading into this road trip...They were 1-7-2 in sets in the second half...Lynchburg has now won two games in a row, three out of five, and four of their last seven games...This after they had dropped six out of seven to fall to 7-15 in the second half...They have upped their second half winning percentag from .318 to .379 in their last seven contests...

HIT THEM WITH YOUR BEST SHOT: Lynchburg swatted a season-high 20 hits last night in their 11-4 victory over the Keys...The performance topped the 19 hits they had at Potomac on May 22nd in their 13-5 win...Eight of the nine Hillcats in the line-up collected a hit and seven of them had a multi-hit game...Only three of the 20 hits went for extra bases, and all three of those were doubles...Last season the most hits the Cats had was 18 and that was against Wilmington on April 13th at City Stadium...The most hits they have ever smacked was 24 at Kinston on April 27th, 2005...

RAINING CATS AND KEYS: Last night's first pitch was delayed 35 minutes because of rain in Frederick and the middle innings of the contest were played with rain falling on the diamond...This after the series opener was rained out on Friday night and game one of the doubleheader on Saturday night was delayed and hour and 12 minutes in the middle of the third inning...These two teams have had three games postponed due to the weather (one of which was canceled), including the first game of the season between the two on April 20th...Their canceled contest on June 11th was the only scheduled game in the first half of the season the Hillcats did not play...They also had a rain shortened contest at The Grove on June 3rd when Lynchburg earned a 7-6 victory in five and a half innings of play...

LOCKED OUT: The Hillcats are now posting an 11-4 record against the Keys and are 4-0-1 in the five series against them this season...The win last night finished Lynchburg's ten games at Frederick this season with a 7-3 mark...The Cats best record against an opponent overall, at home (4-1) and on the road are all versus the Keys...

HUBER'S HUGE NIGHT: UTIL Erik Huber went 6-for-6 last night with a double, three RBI and two runs scored...The six hits were a career-high and the most by a Hillcat this season...Four times this season a Cat had collected four hits before Huber's six-hit performance a night ago...Huber had five four-hit games while with West Virginia this season, including three in the month of June that he batted an even .400 in...

YOU'RE UNINVITED: OF Alex Presley went 0-for-5 with a walk and was the only Hillcat that did not get a hit in last night's 20-hit performance by Lynchburg...Oddly enough, he came in with a seven-game hitting streak and was hitting .375 (12-.for-32) over that time...

POPPIN' PRASCH: INF Eddie Prasch went 2-for-6 last night with three RBI...It was the third multi-hit game for Prasch in his last four games played after he did not have a multi-hit game in his first 38 games of the season...During his current season-long four-game hitting streak he is 9-for-18 (.500) with two doubles, a triple, seven RBI and three runs scored...Over his last eight games Prasch is 11-for-34 (.324) with ten RBI and four runs scored and has raised his average from .144 to .188...

WALK THIS WAY: OF Jared Keel went 2-for-5 a night ago with a double, an RBI, three runs scored and a walk...During the Hillcats recent six-game homestand he walked ten times and had his fourth three walk contest of the season...In 64 games played this season Keel has walked a team-leading 54 times...Despite the fact that he missed the month of April with a knee injury, he is third in the Carolina League in base on balls...He is also second in the league in on-base percentage with a .412 clip, only behind teammate C Kris Watts (.456)...

TODAY'S OPPOSING PITCHERS: RHP Eduardo Paulino was signed by the Royals in 2006 out of the Dominican Republic...He made his professional debut with full season Low-A Burlington in 2007 and went 3-2 with a 4.86 ERA in 12 starts...Last year he returned to the Bees and went 5-4 with a 3.68 earned run average in 19 games (17 starts)...This season he has pitched 18 games (14 starts) with Wilmington and has gone 3-6 with a 4.57 ERA...Paulino has made two start against Lynchburg, going 1-0 with a 4.35 ERA...In his last start against the Hillcats and his lone start at home against them, he went six and 1/3 innings and allowed just one runs in earning the victory...Despite an 0-2 record in July, he has gone five innings or more in all four starts and is posting a 3.91 ERA in the month...
