Heredia Activated from DL, Shive Transferred to Staten Island

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Thursday that Charleston RiverDogs right-handed pitcher Jairo Heredia has activated from the DL, and right-handed pitcher Andrew Shive been transferred from Charleston to Short Season Staten Island.

Heredia has started nine games for the RiverDogs thus far this season. The 6'1" right-hander has posted a 3-2 record and 4.40 ERA, surrendering 51 hits and 23 earned runs, with 41 strikeouts and 13 walks, in a total of 47.0 innings on the mound. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native was named the No. 29 prospect in the Yankees' organization prior to the 2010 campaign by Baseball America.

Shive has appeared in six games for the RiverDogs this season. The Bakersfield, Calif. native has posted a 1-1 record with a 3.38 ERA, giving up four hits and three earned runs, with four strikeouts, in a total of 8.0 innings of work.
