January 6, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Peoria Rivermen News Release

T.J Hensick reached the 300-point plateau of his American Hockey League career in Peoria's 5-2 loss to the San Antonio Rampage on Sunday night at the AT&T Center. He assisted on Derek Nesbitt's 12th goal of the season to reach the milestone in the second period of his 280th career game.

In his sixth AHL season, Hensick stands with 90 goals and 210 assists and leads the team with 21 assists and 30 points this year.

San Antonio and Peoria traded goals quickly in both the first and second periods. Quinton Howden stole a puck behind the Rivermen net and snuck it past Jake Allen at 16:45 in the first period. The Rivermen response came just 11 seconds later when Phil McRae converted a one-timer from Sergey Andronov at 16:56.

Just 5:39 into the second period, the Rampage struck on the power play to regain the lead. Justin Vaive, parked in front of Allen, tipped Colby Robak's shot in for his second goal of the year. This time the Rivermen re-tied the game 45 seconds later on Nesbitt's one-timer from the low slot. Hensick and Adam Cracknell setup the play from behind the San Antonio goal.

Early in the third period, the Rampage gained the lead for the third and final time in the game when Scott Timmins cashed in on a rebound at 2:52. Jon Rheault scored twice, at 5:26 and 19:44 (empty net), to push the final score to 5-2.

Allen finished with 24 saves while Jacob Markstroms stopped 31 of Peoria's 33 shots on net. The Rivermen went 0-for-5 on the power play while the Rampage were 1-for-4.

The Rivermen return home to face Milwaukee on Friday at 7:05 p.m. Following the game, Grammy-Award nominee Carman will perform at Carver Arena. For tickets or more information call 309-676-1040 or visit www.rivermen.net.
