Huntsville Flight News Release

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Mar. 15) – Cedric Henderson made two free throws with 1.5 seconds remaining to lift Mobile to an 80-79 NBDL victory over Huntsville here Saturday night at the Von Braun Center.

Henderson scored a team-best 22 points for the Revelers (24-22) as they evened the season series with Huntsville at four games apiece and all put a serious dent in the Flight’s playoff hopes in the process. Ernest Brown added 12 points in the winning cause.

"I thought our guys did an incredible job fighting tonight," Reveler coach Sam Vincent said. "It was a tough game last night against Columbus (a 83-79 loss) and a long trip up here to Huntsville. We were tired tonight but the guys showed incredible character and heart against a tough Huntsville team. This was a big win for us."

With the Revelers up 79-77, the Flight got a bucket from A.J. Guyton – two of his game-high 26 – to re-tie the score at 79 with 56.3 seconds left. After a missed shot by Issac Fontaine on Mobile’s next possession, Huntsville turned the ball right back to the visitors on a bad pass turnover by Lonnie Harrell with 18.3 on the clock.

That setup Henderson’s game-winning drive to the lane as he was fouled by Bakari Hendrix and resulted in the subsequent deciding free throws.

That ended an exciting fourth quarter that started tied at 59 and featured six ties and six lead changes over the final 10 minutes.

"This was a tough loss for us," Huntsville coach Ralph Lewis said. "We had our opportunities and we didn’t make plays plain and simple. We played tough ball but we have to take care of our opportunities when they came – but we have some hope left (for the playoffs)."

Three other Flight players joined Guyton in double figures as Jermaine Walker tallied 15 points, while Art Long and Bakari Hendrix tallied 11 apiece. Long also added a game-high 10 rebounds to notch his second straight double-double.
