Heat Release Rollheiser from PTO

February 14, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Abbotsford Heat News Release


Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat announced today that goaltender Grant Rollheiser has been released from his Professional Try-Out (PTO).

The return of Danny Taylor to Abbotsford today leaves the Heat two of the top five goalies in the AHL in both goals against average and save percentage. Rollheiser served as the backup to Barry Brust for the past three games, and did not see playing time.

Rollheiser, a Chilliwack, BC product, has played 18 games with the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL) this season posting a record of seven wins, eight losses and three shootout losses. The 23-year-old has a 3.37 GAA, a .890 SAV% and one shutout in his first professional season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs originally selected Rollheiser in the sixth round (158th overall) in the 2008 Entry Draft. Rollheiser who is a graduate of Boston University, made 31 appearances over four season with the Terriers and was part of the 2009 NCAA Championship team.
