Heat And Marlies To Play On CBC March 21st

ABBOTSFORD BC - The Abbotsford Heat, in conjunction with the Toronto Marlies, are pleased to announce that the game between the Abbotsford Heat and Toronto Marlies on March 21st at 10 am Pacific Daylight Time will be broadcast nationally on the CBC from the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, ON.

Canadian Television Icon and Hockey Night in Canada personality Don Cherry will drop the puck for a ceremonial faceoff prior to the game. As well, the Marlies will wear special camouflage jerseys to honour the Canadian Armed Forces in their Second Annual Salute the Troops Day.

For the Heat, it will mark the first time that they have appeared on television nationally this season as they gear up to secure a playoff spot for the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs.

"The Abbotsford Heat look forward to bringing our team to Toronto to play the Marlies on such a great occasion as Salute the Troops Day," comments Dave Sheldon, Director of Communications and Broadcast. "The bonus of having this game on television will allow our existing fans, as well as new fans to the AHL, to experience the American Hockey League product and see what the Abbotsford Heat is all about."
