Each participant will be tested in the following:

Timed 40-yard dash

Four-corner agility

L-Shuttle run

Bench press 225 lbs for repetition

The tryout is open for all positions and will be conducted outdoors on FieldTurf. Players will be required to perform in a Pro-Style workout. All participants are required to bring their own shoes (outdoor cleats preferably) and other proper workout attire. This will be a non-contact tryout.

“We are looking for players who can compete at the professional level,” said Islanders Head Coach Cal Lee. “This is a legitimate opportunity for players to get noticed. We know there are talented athletes in Hawaii and we want the best players to compete at this level.”

The Hawaiian Islanders are constantly looking for talented local players to join the stateÂ’s only professional football franchise. Lee and the Islanders finished the 2003 season with an 11-7 record and the West Division Championship and advanced to the second round of the af2 playoffs losing to the eventual champion Tulsa Talons. Lee, who also is an assistant coach for the University of Hawaii, is the most successful high school coach in Hawaii history with 241 wins, 14 Prep Bowl Championships, the inaugural state football championship and an incredible .876 winning percentage.

For more information on the tryouts, please call the Hawaiian Islanders office at (808) 53-ARENA or visit our web site at www.hawaiianislanders.com.
