Havoc in the Community: Team Welcomes Home Brave Service Men and Women

HUNTSVILLE, AL NOV. 10, 2016 - The Havoc took time away from the ice tonight to welcome home the brave service men and women with the Semper Fi Community Task Force of North Alabama at the Westin Hotel.
"Just the warm welcoming that we were able to help give made it all the worthwhile," said Zach Carriveau. "One guy was very surprised and didn't even expect it. He didn't know what he was doing here at the hotel but to know that it was for a welcome like meant everything to him." Players stood outside the Westin Hotel at Bridgestreet to welcome numerous motorcycles and car loads full of military service men and women back to Huntsville. Inside the hotel players passed out t-shirts and caught up with members of the military.
"To see the respect that this country has for its military is overwhelming and for us to be able to do what we do and have the freedoms we have its important to us to give back," said defenseman Rob Simpson. "Events like this make it very easy for us to put things in perspective and go out every day and play hockey while doing what we love to do."
Carriveau mentioned some of them were more excited to talk hockey and meet the guys. "I think I even got a few of them to come out Thursday too," said Carriveau. The Havoc take on the Pensacola Ice Flyers Thursday night at the Von Braun Center at 7 p.m. and we want you to be there too. Veterans and active military service men and women receive $5 off their ticket by going to the Havoc Front Office or contacting them at 256-518-6160.
