Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Loveland, Colo. -- A three-goal third couldn't halt the skid as the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 5-3 to the Colorado Eagles tonight.

A scoreless first period gave way 2:23 into the second, when Eagles forward Chad Costello scored on a penalty kill to give his team the 1-0 lead. Midway through the period, Costello added a second shorthanded goal to his tally, and the Eagles went up 2-0 over the Wranglers.

Less than five minutes into the third, two more Eagles goals - from forward Ray Kaunisto and defenseman Arthur Bidwell - gave Colorado the 4-0 advantage. For the hat trick, Costello made it a 5-0 game with his third shorthanded goal of the night midway through the period. Avoiding the shutout for Eagles goaltender Kyle Jones, the Wranglers came back with three goals in the final 7:32 of the game, lead off by center Scott Campbell. Wranglers center Eric Lampe added a power play goal in the final 90 seconds, and a final goal from right wing Sean Wiles made it a 5-3 game. With that score, the Eagles recorded the win, and took three of four points from the Wranglers in the road series.
